This wedding from 2018 is one of my favourites, not just because of the botanical wedding car sticker, but because of how personal every detail felt.
Melissa and Thomas even had a name for their beloved 1966 VW Beetle: “Lucy the Love Bug.”
And that says everything.
Because when your wedding reflects you, it never goes out of style.
The Wedding Car: More Than Just Transport
“Lucy the Love Bug” wasn’t just a car, she was part of the story.
Instead of over-decorating it, Melissa and Thomas kept everything thoughtful and intentional:

Nothing felt excessive. Every detail felt like them.
A Creative Twist: Welcome Drinks in the Car Boot
One of the most memorable ideas from this wedding was using the front boot of Lucy the Love Bug as a welcome drinks bar.
It’s such a simple idea, but incredibly effective.
It turned something personal into something shared:
- guests interacted with it
- it became part of the experience
- it made the wedding feel unique
