Hello! If you have been following my posts you will surely know that the lead-up time to the festive December Holidays is definitely one of my favourites {and my family’s too}!
The new program Waardevol on Kyknet contacted me to show them how to make an Advent Calendar out of re-purposed goods. This program was aired last night {blush, blush}. Over the next 3 days I will share the ‘how-to’s’ with you here via my blog. You still have a few days left to get everything together to make the festive season even more exciting for your little + loved ones.

Mmm… 24 gifts, Oi! How do I fill the calendar..? Remember to be creative and it doesn’t have to be big, it’s the thought that counts. I personally collect little gifts during the year, however remember you can also ‘spread’ a gift over a few days for example, a puzzle is a great gift that can be divided into a few ‘days’ or break-up a packet of bath pencils, now you have 5 days covered and not just one… get it? You can also make little vouchers for time spent etc.

Ok, so let’s get started. This first Calendar is made out of re-purposed food tins. I used a mix of leftover wrapping paper, normal white paper, washi tape and vinyl numbers to make this one
look glamorous! I just love the glitzy mix of gold and bright pink.. The vinyl numbers are available in my on-line shop here and the free download for the ‘lids’ are available here. I also show how to make little {or as big as you want} 3-dimensional stars, these can also be used for your table decor.

Enjoy the lovely photographs by the very talented and really nice Lauren from Lauren Kim Photography!
